It was posted in The Lesson, but I'll post it here.
For those who don't roam The Lesson, I was given a chance to hear the album a month before its release. I decided I would do a review. Since the album told a story, I wanted to write the review in story form, or like one of my lengthy (long-winded) posts in The Lesson, and I was given a chance to do this. I submitted it, and I was prepared for a re-edit request. I did so, and shortened it significantly. Here it is, and I was glad that this was the very first published review for undun: http://kevinnottingham.com/2011/11/15/the-roots-undun/
What I wanted to do is publish my original review on my site on the weekend before the release of undun. I did this on Friday, and it will be removed on Wednesday. This is what was originally submitted. WARNING: This review is 4500 words, or the equivalent of the average short story. http://www.thisisbooksmusic.com/2011/12/03/review-the-roots-undun-original-version/
As you'll see, the first review was written with only one thing known: undun is a concept album. The re-edit was done after I briefly read ?uest's notes about it, but my goal (as with the rest of my review) was to let the music take me to wherever it would lead me.
