lol, u know there's one coming cause you know SOMEBODY was recording on their phone. I'm surprised there is not more talk about this vid on this site like other boards. Badu was like no. 2 most searched subject using yahoo's engine the other day. Video is great and was explained thoroughly at the end by the sista. It is the equivalent of a Lauryn Hill rhyme "and even after all my logic and my theory, I add a muthafucka so you ignant n*ggas hear me". People who never listened to a Badu lp she now has their attention, more power to her, eff it. However I must say after one listen New Amerikah pt.2 is very inferior to pt.1, it's Badu though and I know I have to like it more than I feel right now, I just think it's cause I'm stuck on that new Wu Massacre.

Kennedy wasn't that much of a puppet president in his aim to dismantle the CIA and go along with what he was supposed to do and Badu is not a puppet artist doing what she is "supposed" to do and be bound by some self righteous ish like she can't be naked in a video when she gets naked every day like her ancestors that walked around naked in their glorious beauty in the past. I would never do that. I love her. That does not mean that if I donot like or agree with something she does, that I am not going to speak on it. She knew she would create controversy with this. That is why I said it was gimicky (sp?). I know on other sites she's been called a "ho" and whatever else. That makes my point. Knowing that it would be taken to that level, as it always is with Black women if it can feasibly be slipped in somewheres, why go there? Because she can? She can do a lot of other things too. I read that she is going to go back to that site and lead a cleansing WOMB Energy ritual for women. Now THAT is a Window Seat video I would have wanted to see, or even participate in, if I could. This video? I never want to see it again. And on a gloomy day, I normally look to her videoes to readjust the Energy of the day for me. She has a responsibility here, as a Black woman. Not just to herself, but to all of us. It is not just about her. There is NO WAY she cannot understand that, and claim to be conscious. I get where she was going w/ it. I do. Delivery of her point,or manner thereof? Not so great. Poor choice, as I stated originally.

I think she made a poor choice in trying to stand up for self expression, and artistic integrity. given the objectificaton of women, particularly Black women, dating back to the so-called Hottentot Venus. This plays right into that T & A stereotype,as evidenced by the usual comments about her within this very post. Plus, it comes off as gimicky. I know she has stated that was not her intention, but it comes off that way just the same. Just like when Alanis Morrisette was naked in her 'Thank You' video. Can't a woman think of any other way to get fans and the music industry to remember her, and to have a successful "come back" without taking her clothes off? She has spoken out against this herself even, and then turns around and does it, in the name of artistic freedom?!? FOH. I am most definitely not a member of Groupthink, as she calls it, and love her enough to praise her when she's Righteous, and call her out when she's f**ked up. This video falls into the latter case.

I don't understand how it relates to the lyrics of the song. The video has nothing to do with any theme off of her album. I understand the video but if she played a wu-tang joint along with it for instance it wouldn't take away from the message. Anyways, who was the guy that was responsible for picking up her clothes after she threw them on the ground? Dude was racing to pick it up so that they wouldn't get in trouble for littering? who knows...
