"'going home' (skit) - sample request (w/ link)."

i imagine it's technically a direct lift as opposed to a sample, but either way, i'd like to locate the original source.

35 seconds of mid-solo fender rhodes, in front of quiet percussion.

from the 'aka j. yancey' joint: http://s53.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0SAFNFZJ5NRZR2UVNCR33UFFHT

go.

absent such, i'm caught between mere conjecture and new-found loss of an aspect of money's talent that mighta overshadowed traditional production.

The actual name of the track is "Electric Piano Solo" from the Jay Dee Unreleased EP (1997).

ion't think he's on percussion or (the almost imperceptible) bass. ion't even think he's on the keys.

i'm not tryna discount homie's potential (if hitherto undisplayed) ability, or even tryna compare the solo slice to chick corea. imjusayin', it doesn't fit to my ear.

incidentally, my copy's track 5: http://www.beatstreet.ca/product_info.php?products_id=1342&artist=Jay+Dee

It came out on his label. You can probably write him here or go to his (or Smokey The Cat's) MySpace page.

wh/, of course, is possible.

rhythmically/electrically, '70s tjader is possible, as are zawinul and clare fischer. sh:t, if patrice rushen had recorded more than two pieces w/in this idiom, slimmie'd be a focus too.
