And I hesitated to make this statement, and I mean no disrespect, but personally, I would have enjoyed your beats more if you didn't use that siren that sounds too similar to the watermark that the GOAT used to let you know who was producing what you are hearing. I'm a big fan of Dilla too bruh, but after Dilla passed a lot of his followers started using sirens as drops and it didn't sit right with me. I like Alchemist's stuttery drop, but if it wouldn't sound right if I put his drop on my beats. Just Blaze has a dope one too, Illmind has his, Mphazes has his... You gotta get your own shit. I mean the way you flip the siren, it sounds good, it even sounds a little different than Dilla's but I think your shit would be a lot doper either without that drop or if you got one that other cats ain't using.

"Eye Foreign I" is an hour long mix of 24 beats I have created during the past year and a half. All tracks in the mix are brand new, original, and created by me. They represent, at least I think, some of my best creations out of the near 100 compositions stored on my MPC's memory card. Although I would label it Hip-Hop, it could easily get categorized as Downtempo, Chill Out, or Trip-Hop. At any rate that doesn't really matter.

Everything in this mix is from my post-Reason period, where I abandoned all software in favor of -- mainly, an MPC 500. The mix is put together like my others as a sort of story line; "Eye Foreign I" refers to otherness, conflict, individuality, and even happiness and I believe that musically it reflects those feelings.

Work safe with the exception of "Why Can't We Be Enemies?" It is mostly instrumental with the exception of a few narrations and sound bites.

Last thing, if people seem to like this mix I am contemplating one, or both of the following ideas. First, I would release an unedited, full version of two tracks on one 7", 45 RPM single. The cost would be between $5-7. Second, I would release an unmixed CD or digital download of all the tracks, including "12-inch" DJ versions with intro and outro breaks for easy mixing. If there is enough interest in the 7" I will have 100 copies pressed.

hey, so i just finished my 2nd project (i don't know whether to call it a mixtape or an album, but i tried to have it play like an album) and i wanted to share it..

brief intro.. the project is called "33:55" (slight homage to that LCD Soundsystem/Nike album.. and also slight laziness on my part, as the title is also the running time). basically it's a capella verses over beats, but i look at it more like the sample sources (musical and vocal) are the stars of a movie that i directed rather than songs that i made (if that makes any sense).. i didn't crate-dig, i used songs that i already liked and tried to fit the sounds into an overall "vision".. i added some of my own instrumentation, but mostly to fill out the sounds.. haha ok, that's prob. all you need to know going in..

ok, so i'm posting 2 files for d/l.. the first is one long mp3 of project, it's how i intended it to be listened to and you can also hear it w/o downloading.. haha but i got too many complaints, so i'm also posting the zip file for the individual tracks.. anyways, let me know what you think (i'm open to all kinds of criticism) and if anyone wants any instrumentals, i'd be happy to send them over

the first, "At The Ready" is a composed beat. a very basic, "101" type progression most here will probably hate it but i *personally* think it's dope, i mean i think i got a lot of mileage out of that a-g-f-e-g. it needs a few things to be leveled down and the highs are a bit high and yada yada....

"For Dolo" is a sampled joint, using the Five Stairsteps sample of "Danger, She's a Stranger" that oukast used for "two dope boys", which i personally think i freaked much better. but that's me.

I put that together through printin somethin I made on Corell Draw, then lightly tracing it, then spending about 4 hours making a small mark w/ a sharpie and taking a picture of it each time, lol. It looks cool but that honostly took me like, 3-4 hours.
