I'll post the genre and you reply with what you think of as an example of good writing.

I saw this for the first time not too long ago, and the writing is what left the biggest impression on me. Which as I recall, rarely happens when I see a movie. Probably because like most people, I see a movie as actors being filmed, not screenplays being acted.

But the writing felt textbook tight while still managing to be a lot of fun. Seems like the kind of script you would study, if you were into such a thing.

Please explain. A lot of good comedies contain dramatic structure (Sandy Mackendrick said "Comedy is drama, only faster."). But do you really see this as much a drama as a comedy?

I've heard the jokes so many times I need to give episodes a few years before I come back to 'em, but they're the best.

Frasier's probably the best though, they came up with such a variety of humour for so long
they had all the character comedy, situational comedy, farces, drama, but they could also always be depended on for witticisms, something a lot of comedies slack on (in Friends the jokes usually revolved round the characters doing their stock reaction... like Joey reacting stupidly, Phoebe reacting wierdly, Chandler supplying the obvious piss take, etc)

Althought at the moment, All-Star Superman is writing a love letter to the genre while transcending it all at once.

from me.

Morrison is a great great writer and easily the most exciting person working in mainstream comics today. But Moore is just flat out the greatest mind to grace the medium.

I've been compiling a lot of his indie/lesser known shit on my harddrive lately and it's every bit as good as his 'major' work. I'm gonna drop some YSI links on y'all in the next day or two...

I'd never heard of it. Looks good, and with your recommendation, that seals the deal.

Have you read Man Gone Down? I won't say that it's the best writing in the world, but it's a worthy first novel, with an interesting perspective.
