The video clip was slanted in order to advance an idea against the administration. That's biased, and to anchor it draws special attention to the story that no other swipe has gotten.

There have been plenty other swipes throught the days and months. Why does this one get special attention?

secondly, I waited to see it, and to see what the subject matte was before anchoring it- believe me if you look at the conversation I didn't just jump at the opporunity to crucify ole rumsey.

Thirdly, IMO if there is anything that needs to be understood by the general public regarding TAX funded mistakes/mishaps that effect our everyday lives like: war, the price of milk, etc...well, then it deserves to be anchored for no other reason than newsworthiness.

That's my opinion. If you can bring me a good point to why it should not be anchored, it will come down.

But I feel that the info and the line of questioning, and the fact that we talked about many of the issues discussed in that clip on the boards warrant it being anchored.

You could have easily rejected that request.

There are several swipes that are posted that could be looked at as "information that the general public needs to know" and could be considered newsworthy. Big deal. That still doesn't explain why a swipe was considered to be exceptionally significant enough to warrant an anchor.

Whether you're moved by my politics or not is irrelevant. Swipes were not anchored for a reason, and a biased link to a clip is no different.

I wasn't aware of this. And you are oversimplifying. I listed at least 3 reasons why this was considered for an anchor. What initiated the thought process was the request.

Again, if you can make an argument as to why anchoring is unreasonable, it won't be any longer.

Anchoring posts generally means placing emphasis on a thread that's of particular importance. Anchors in Activist have generally been reserved for threads that's setting up volunteer efforts or organizations, or for job searches that the poster was setting up.

Marcus's thread has nothing to do with any of this, and is no different that the thousands of other threads he has created, or the thousands of threads everyone else has created. Just because you like it, think it's "newsworthy" (Which is a relative term. I could consider Ciara's performance on MTV's Spring Break "newsworthy". Big deal.) and think others should read it too doesn't mean a thing.
