Shit can officially pop off. We’ll see where some of these guys will eventually be playing.

Tannethrill off the board...stays with Tennessee at 4/118...62 guaranteed
Jags trade Calais Campbell to the Ravens for a 5th.
Chiefs will franchise Chris Jones
What are my boys going to do? Sign Dak, franchise Amari? Vice versa?

Hopkins is signed through 2022 and Johnson is already guaranteed $10 million for this upcoming season

Houston can cut Johnson without a big cap hit next year, but this reeks of putting a band-aid on all that lost draft capital O'Brien hemorrhaged last off-season

But he clearly wanted A LOT of money. And got it. So, good for him. But I really liked him on this team.

On the other hand, with only one pick in the first three rounds, there's something to be said for being able to draft some top flight talent. And we can get a really good defensive player with the Colts pick.

Only question is if we use our #31 pick to trade back.

losing Buckner does not make SF better today -- but they were not going to be able to keep three first-rounders on their DL forever. so now they get to reset with another first-rounder who will keep them under the cap.

Indy gets a proven player in his prime (will finish 2020 as a 26-year-old) that has less immediate risk than whoever is drafted at 13th, at a position of weakness.

the risk for SF is that the 13th pick does not pan out, and the risk for Indy is Buckner does not play up to his contract. which are both acceptable in a trade like this.

If he wanted to win, he could've asked for less money and told them to go spend it on weapons.

Rather, he knew he had a convenient scapegoat in Belichick. So Brady gets to leave for probably LA (where he has Hollywood interests), get his bag, and save face...win, win, win.

He left because he knows how Hoodie operates and wanted to finish on his own terms, not by being cut or replaced. Dude has taken pay cuts so the Patriots could build for the last like five + years. And the talking heads all say Tampa Bay, because he STILL wants to win.

its kind of like when emmitt left for the cardinals. didnt feel right for him to play for someone else. i get it though, they want to keep playing and the franchise needs to make decisions based on its interest. the cardinals was a worse move though, they were in the division just a couple years before.

i dont really have any hate for the raiders but i kind of feel bad for jason lol.

..I haven't really weighed in with my opinion about the moves being made, but I certainly understand and saw some of this coming.

The world saw a talented roster wasted over the past few seasons due to a lack of leadership. The Bucs are gambling on that premise, hoping that Brady will not only bridge the gap, but also help groom whomever they acquire/retain moving forward.

Should be interesting to see which players follow Brady to Tampa.

Some sports writer suggested that the Bucs also draft a young QB who can sit behind Brady & learn the ropes.

It probably would have benefited Winston to have done the same thing for a year or 2.

I admit, I didn't see this coming. For some reason, I thought they'd re-sign Winston or get Philip Rivers. So I was a little surprised.

I've never been a Brady fan at all. But he's running the show for my team, so I'll be behind him.

^^ That was a very tough sentence for me to type. ^^

That obviously won't help with respect to Brady, given his age.

Assuming the draft happens remotely, TPA clearly needs to get an offensive tackle 1st round. Donovan Smith is average at best, and Dotson frankly needs to retire. There's definitely no one that I see as an upgrade on the FA market..

2nd round needs to be qb (Eason...or maybe Jalen Hurts?). I'd keep Gabbert as the backup since he knows the system (or can adjust to whatever they do with Brady), and the rookie as the 3rd qb in the beginning anyways.

Beyond that...who knows.

I'm def looking forward to seeing which vets are willing to take less to chase a ring. I will say I'm not keen on Antonio Brown tho...

The writing was on the wall last year when no one would mention his health and he wasn't used as he was during the previous two years.

He was such a big part of the Rams' offense when it was humming. We all saw last year that without him at his best the team wasn't elite.

I could see him working well in a platoon somewhere. A place that wouldn't require him to have the ball 20 times a game.

Supply and Demand. The supply is plentiful, so it will be a buyer's market. No big deals when you can get the same or better production from a 2nd to 5th round pick.

They are the Fords of the NFL. Buy it brand new for cheap ( rookie deal), run it in the ground for 5 years, get rid of it, then repeat....and then some other team buys that same Ford for pennies on the dollar just to fill a position or to get through the season.

That's just the nature of the business for that position.

Back in the day the supply wasn't plentiful because it was a smashmouth league....so getting that big star running back to run for close to 8-10 years cost a lot of money ( for that era). And mid major schools were terrible and not producing great talent. Now all the schools are producing great talent.

It's crazy how hard it is to find and draft good corners, DE, OL and QB, but it is now easy as hell to get or find a running back. lose a top corner or OL, teams will lose their fucking minds. Lose a RB? Just throw some nigga named Boston in, and he goes and run for 100 yards.

That's some racist shit to me, same thing with Obrien. Where is the NFLPA regarding these incidents?

I don't hear white coaches talking to white players in that same manner.

I don’t know. Considering the injuries he has occurred , I don’t see it. As long as Winston is out there, I don’t see anyone picking up cam but leaving Winston out there.

Cam’s body is too banged up and injury prone at this point. If he does get picked up, it will be as a backup only. Just can’t see teams using a spot or money on a player who is constantly plagued with injuries and might never be the same.

Cam being released was a forgone conclusion once teddy was signed....they can’t even give him away.

he's great. you have two HOF coaches (Belichick, Payton) and two offensive coaches (McVay, O'Brien) who all wanted him enough to use serious draft capital, but didn't want him enough to pay him in his prime.

*although last year he was more of a mediocre player and could be trending that way for the latter of his career. not helped by the concussions.

I actually felt Bucs were set at TE. Gronk at full strength is an obvious upgrade.

Regardless, I guess they're all in for a season that may not start on time, or happen at all.

It actually makes more sense to trade Brate now due to the $.

Of the two, I personally would rather keep brate due to his superior hands.

OJ has way more potential, obviously

Both are garbage blockers, so that's a wash

They had a strong connection for a couple of seasons. Certainly he's not at Gronk's level. But given a chance, I think he's a solid receiving TE.

On the flip, I agree with you. Howard probably has more potential even though he had a tough season last year.

I get the impression that Arians doesn't like to utilize his TEs. But they say Brady does.

Man, I can't call it. I don't know who to keep. Is it unlikely for them to keep all 3?

..Fuck the old rules.

I know most people think its crazy, but consider the situation:

They have Tom Brady and are ready to win NOW.

They don't have to keep everyone, every year, but they don't exactly have to trade or let them walk right away. They have THEE most potent offensive arsenal in the league right now. No one can defend them straight up and expect to win.

Look at this roster:

https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/roster/_/name/tb

7 TEs @ 6'5, 245lb or higher, with variable skill sets. 3 of which (Gronk, Brate, *Howard) are damn-near guaranteed mismatches. *For anyone questioning Howard's ability to play up to his draft potential, some of that responsibility rests on Winston's shoulders. They never developed a consistent chemistry on the field and we all know you can't catch TDs when your QB often plays for the other team.

But back to that roster. They have enough depth @ TE to trade for pieces to shore up that OL. They could actually make that happen without losing Brate or Howard. *Edit: If they decide to trade Howard, I wouldn't do it for less than a truck-load haul in return.

If I'm Glazer, I'd pay every penny of whatever luxury tax for a chance to watch that team stomp a mud-hole through the entire league.

Kyle Orton had a career season which is not really saying a lot but that's what he had to work with.

with the Saints. Philly, Saints, and Packers are going to be running stuff in the next 3-4 years.

The NFL teams focused too much on his turnovers, due to being in a pass at all cost offense. It was an aberration. Dude's stats for his first 5 years are better than Peyton's. Saints got two QBs that they can pass the torch to...... Winston is going to mess around and be the first QB to pass for 6,000 yards with all those weapons.

Bears? Not a god damn thing. SMH.

at first i didnt get it at all.

then i thought, its decent insurance if dak gets injured in the season.

then i realized this really could be a way to force dak to not hold out, or provide insurance if he does.

would they had signed dalton if dak was signed? if so then cool.

Pats are all in on Jarrett, and they don't have any big time weapons on offense, which is something that Cam is going to need - at this point in his career - because he can't be that physical running QB anymore.

Plus I doubt his body holds up. He has taken too many hit throughout his career, and his shoulder and foot are not the same anymore.

This is somewhat of garage sale pickup to see if it can be used for anything, so it's a cheap investment for the Pats.

Personally, a QB like Cam Newton, due to his physical situation, he does not need to be part of a rebuilding team. So, for his sake, it makes zero sense. But this also lets me know this was probably the only deal out there for him that could give him some sort of shot of getting back out on the field.
