Old school Brutha hair reflecting jazz
When we were colored
Sweet calming like almond oil and fresh ready booty fownk after a steeping bath
Prism butterfly jitters
Giving cold nipples a run for their foreplay money.

There is no masturbating war.

Blessed up and down
He reckons delegating hexes from Pentecostal bishops
Midwest Jehovah's Witnesses and Baptist deacons
Embracing retrovirus cocktails everyday
While inviting me to accompany over Kung Pao, revealing leg rubs
Quake with gratitude and future hospital days
Strongly we stare and love and hurt and live and breathe each token and scar and smile and sigh in color
No bother or hurry
No hey Little Walter
We are life's fury embodied in manly love
No tears for human death

i am the get upset (sumtimes mad & violent) turn on sum music, and let tears fall type tho. but u wont catch me jes a cryin ova sum BULLSHIT that otha ppl cry about...otha womyn...men...and im not a child..but its the 20th anniversary.

and i read newsweek last week, and the face of Promise, made me wanna write a poem bout dis, den a vey dear man in my community passed on after 09 yrs of strugglin w/ this...& i guess i didnt realize how many of my own are hurt by this, until i saw the numbers, and saw the baybees, and decided to be tested myself,
and thank God for his continous mercy, and my continous strength, and then i apllied for this job wurkin w/ HIV positive inmates, and sumwhere in all of this i read ur poem too, and saw Jerry's face (& had to STOP myself frum CRYIN cuz i knew he must miss his daddy that just passed on) and i knew i had to make my own poem bout dis, but its gonna be bout dis womyn, and then ill prolly come back & write one for jerry too, and in it ill be sure to say that for the first time i was bout ready to deep down cry,

and not just let a few tears fall.

Amen. For me, saying aloud "God, please help me to hold on forever" always keeps the human drama we all see in our own rhytes in perspective. Okayplayer 25Percenter knowz what I'm talkin' about *laugh* .

As much as I used to resent this in the past, humor done your own way is key for preventing what I can "the blues syndrome". I'm so glad God gave all of us the ability to make our own humor instead of having to follow someone else's humor. At other times, all os uf need to feel the blues for a day or two. I'm like that oftentimes as well.

You too are my reflection. Pray for all of us as you hold onto your gatekeeping God-given glory.

His power used to blow my mind per se as well. However, God has shown all of us in some way that He will always take care of those who believe in His love while professing his name through sun and rain. I never claim to be some Bible-quoting scholar *laugh*. However, I am confident in what God has shown me through the gift He gave all of us: life.
