Here's the story:
-IK Enemkpali asked Geno Smith to come to a football camp at IK's high school. Geno said, yeah, just pay my airfare.
-IK buys ticket. Geno's close friend dies in a motorcycle accident, and Geno cancels appearance at camp.
-IK runs up on Geno like "you got that $600 I paid for your ticket" and Geno was like "nigga, if you don't get the fuck up out my face 'bout some six hundred dollars".
-WHAP
My question is not whether it was appropriate behavior, but rather did Geno really even owe him that money.

We don't really know the nature of the camp. If he's paying for Geno's ticket out of pocket, it would seem that this camp isn't IK's business. It's probably something the HS does, and as an alum, he participates.

I'm not doing a whole bunch of appearances so if I decide I want to, I'm going to do it and I'm not trying to run the dude getting paid less or a camp out of a measly $600.
If I wanted to go I would take care my own shit and tell them to take that $600 for my airfare and give it to kids in some way.
I'm not just going because you're my teammate. If I go, it's because you're my boy and I'm supporting you.

no harm, no foul? and they get to play each other twice this year.
Geno seems like the entitled type. and apparently he told dude, "what are you gonna do about it?" and he did something about it. Geno might not have explicitly asked for it, but he certainly hinted at getting his ass whooped. and to have another job a few days later with your former coach who drafted you, on a better team....i consider that a win. --------------------------------------- it's true what they say...people are strange, when you're strangers.

If it were a situation where Smith were an established starter making huge money, yeah he should have had hit dude off for sure. As it was, yeah he owed him but it shouldn't have been a big deal. Who knows how IK stepped to him and how he responded exactly? Probably tone and demeanor escalated the whole thing. IK wasn't feeling his response, that much we know.
