"Assistance: Repairing Corrupt Video Files"

So, here is the deal:

I was archiving some video files to place on an external hard drive, the plan was to zip up the files and then move the zipped folder over.

What ended up happening is that I zipped a folder and then deleted it, prior to checking the veracity of the zipped folder. Needless to say, the zipped folder was corrupted and I lost a ton of video files.

I went back later and used a "un-delete" utility to bring back the files and was able to save a good # of them, however, a lot of the video files no longer work.

In the thumbnail folder view, I can see the thumbnails (As in an image from the video) for some of them - but they won't play - in other instances, you just see the Icon for software application that would play the file, but you don't see an image thumbnail.

So - here is what I'm looking for:

1. A software app that will repair the files

2. A stronger un-delete utility that will do a better job of recovering old files. I used File Scavenger 3.0 and it did a great job (including recovering in full some files I deleted on Sunday night by accident) however, it doesn't appear to as strong as touted as it alleges to be able to recover files after defragging, reformatting the disk, etc - and this thing is just grabbing stuff I deleted a few weeks ago. So I doubt it would grab something I deleted after a refrag or reformat.

Peace,

M2

1.) divfix might work.
2.) r-studio works pretty well, but it isn't free.

This girl was coming over so I had to "Depornify" the house until I find out how she feels about porn/how freaky she is.

So, I check the DVD player for VCDs/DVDs and move porn off the PC and put it on a external HD that I hide in the closet.

I only really want one of the files

Is it a sign that only my porn files got jacked up and not my Anime files and episodes of Scrubs?

Peace,

Is she going to be tossing your house and seizing your PC like the FBI? I don't understand this. Just turn your PC off and tell her to mind her own business.
