correct me if this is only a myth, but i've heard that desktops are best left on or in sleep mode, so it does not take much of a toll on the processor. is this also true for laptops?
i usually never turn off my ibook. in transit today, i turned it off. to turn it back on, i had to hit the on button plus the "eject disc" button. does this spell trouble?

Eh...if you do it every so often I can't imagine it hurting a thing. I cut my desktop off every couple days or so (I figure 16 hrs of downtime is usually worth it), but I'm banking on upgrading the rig before too many years slip by.
