...how do I convert them to regular MP3's??? Using which program?

Nowadays, if I'm posting content to the web, it's in ogg format. Sounds better than MP3 all day long.

You can use Sound Forge ($$$) or Audacity (Free) to convert them to mp3 format. If you're not going to load them into a portable device, leav them as ogg files.

I rip everything I buy to ogg, 99% of the time better quality than mp3, and even when mp3's sound better, always a bigger file. so better quality and lower file size means ogg>>>>mp3.

so now the question is, where can one find a community of likeminded people with a sharing spirit....?

FLAC > ogg in terms of sound quality, but i'll still take ogg for the balance of quality and file size.

compare ogg to AAC/mp4 if you want to at least stay within the same generation of codec technology.
