hey, i'm looking for some advice about what equipment to get:

I been getting into making beats, mostly for fun, mostly hip-hop joints, and i'm looking to step up and get some gear. I use Logic on a G4 w/ lots of RAM and a MIDI keyboard, and a turntable. I just want to be able to sample and filter out sounds and incorporate them into Logic. I know its kinda lame using software, but i dont have the resources to go all hardware.

SO, i was looking at the akai MPC1000, but i don't really know shit.
Given the equipment i have, what do i need to get to be able to sample and filter shit for use on Logic. Can i just get a digital sampler like the AKAI or do i need other equipment for it to work? And is the MPC1000 the one to get???

I had an MPC 1000 and I sold it because I upgraded my comp
If you using Logic then Pro tools is a perfect fit for sampling
