Apple, whose Mac computers are used primarily by audio and visual professionals, are switching from PowerPC to Intel. Correct?
Microsoft, whose Xbox 360 gaming console is being marketed heavily on it's multimedia capabilities, switched TO PowerPC from the Xbox's previous chips..........
HUH? Can someone clarify this one for me? I'm not being sarcastic, I truly am confused.

Intel never dropped the prices on the P3's they were selling microsoft for the xbox = microsoft spending a lot of cash they didn't think they were gonna have to spend so, microsoft gets a custom cpu, buys the rights and has it made themselves, a lot cheaper in the long run.
ibm basically told apple they could kiss their asses as far as working on faster power pc's, because they made getting chips out for sony and microsoft and Nintendo a priority cuz they're paying more than apple can.
