"difference between an mp3/mp2"


  

          

i don't know what the hell an mp2 is....but i had sent myself a few beats via email, so i could access them on another computer, and when i downloaded them ---they'd been attached as .mp3s-- they downloaded as mp2s.

insight?

It's MPEG-1 Audio Layer II. Compared to MP3, it sounds better than MP3 at bitrates above 256K, but no matter what it takes up more space. You usually don't see it any more outside of broadcast audio.

Iomega tried to start marketing Zip100's for music storage and they had an app that would rip your music to MP2 format. It never caught on, 'cause it was released right as MP3's caught on full steam.

I have the Korg Pandora..Pxr4 portable studio.

it records to mp2.

open the files in an audio editor, then convert them.

I had to use Cubase LE->Import Audio->Export as MP or Wave, whatever you want.
