The original one...from like 2 years ago.

It really hurts me when cats die in those games because they don't come back. It makes me feel like I really let folks down.

...and they always say something really depressing when they go like "I tried my hardest..." or "Continue the fight for me!".

Only "secret" I got off of gamefaqs was how to restart the Cube without getting up (hold X, B and Start).

I can't let them die. How sad is that shit?
They never even mention the character again if he dies;
water under the bridge...they just move on.

I've restarted the 6th chapter about a dozen times because I keep losing one of my knights.

some specifics to character development that I didn't know about till I started chapter 6. My team is much better rounded this time. Beat it first try...well, second first try.

Since it's on Gamecube, the price will probably drop b/c their games never sell. I figured I would just wait on the price drop and cop Dragon Quest 8. How is it?

DQVIII will mos def be hitting PS2's greatest hits line...that's 19.99 guaranteed.

Fire Emblem is probably in a limited press, not nearly enough to solidify it as any kind of hit. If it gets repressed the cost/profit margin will still be pretty high so they wont be able to drop the price much, if at all. If you can even find the game, that is. Plus tactical rpg is a niche market... I just dont see this game having the numbers to validate dropping the price and calling it a hit...

I bought this and decided to wait on DQ.
I guess we'll see who made the right decision, eh?

I figured it would flop and there would still be several copies left. I didn't pay anything for DQ 8 (switch reserve from another game) so it was either that or Fire Emblem. I got DQ b/c the reviews were better. I'll probably go back and get FE eventually though.

Depends on the game, but Soul Calibur 2 is a good example. It sold more on Cube than PS2 or Xbox. Viewtiful Joe is another example.

Also, what dude said about limited pressings and such is probably true for this game. Games like FE tend to stay the same for a while, and Nintendo takes longer to drop the prices of their games (I think Paper Mario and Pikmin 2 are still $50)

i absolutely love the series, right now i'm playing Sacred Stones, and will be getting the GC version very very soon

and yeah you really gotta think carefully with each move...one slip up is all it takes for the enemies to kill someone in your party, it's especially bad when you've spent 1+ hr on a chapter, then you'll be doin your best Darth Vader Ep III impression

i, like most people, refuse to let anyone die....except for Oswin in the very last battle against the Dragon, RIP, i really didn't wanna start all over again since i literally needed only one more attack to kill the boss!!! i'm so sorry Oswin, RIP (see what this game do to u? there's some great characters in there)

I don't know why I never got the gba version.
Shit, I didn't even know there were already 2 entries to the series on gba.

I always wanted to.. just, could never bring myself to buy when I had it in my hand...

*edit*

maybe them GBA graphics just aren't very compelling.
I had a strat rpg on the Game Gear that looked better than that.

Trying to keep everyone alive, get every item, and NOT kill any enemies?!

It's so fucking hard.
I think this game might have killed my gamecube too.
I had to quit when I got a click and disc read error.
I'm letting her cool off right now.
God, I hope she's not fubared...
