"Watched about 20 minutes of Resident Evil 7 gameplay"
VR gameplay.
Now I'm obviously not watching this with VR on but shesh this game looks scary as hell. I'm getting F.E.A.R vibes from it. Suprised nobody is talking about it here.

Great return to what I feel Resident Evil was all about.
6 was a horrible piece of shit. While I really enjoy the gameplay of 4 that's when RE started to go more action instead of survival horror. Seems as it was going the route of the movies instead of what the games once stood for.
7 plays great. You actually feel weak through a lot of it being stalked by something that can only be stunned for a bit and can't be killed.
I hear they're going to keep the main series more survival horror and the spin offs will be where the action focus is from now on. I'm all for that.

as opposed to bills, job security, me and my fam's health, etc.
Its a throwback to when I was young and alll I was worried about was teachers calling my house, my pops finding out I came in two hours past curfew, and freddy kruger. Pissing in my pants reminds me of when times were simpler!

we have two Vive's at work. After the initial excitement of being inside the game wears off the games are doo doo. They are about as complex as mobile phone games. You are either standing in a hallway shooting zombies or pretending to work in an office environment. How long do you think that will be fun? Not very long. Would be cool at parties but that is it. The game I have enjoyed the most is the painting game. Where you can paint in 4D.
Resident Evil looks amazing. My only concern with it would be wearing that fucking headset for long periods of time is uncomfortable. Your face gets sweaty and hot. After about 20 minutes I need a break. I dont think I have ever played Resident Evil for only 20 minutes at a time. But this is the direction VR games need to go to justify that price tag.
