"Advice on a camera"

I travel a lot, and using my cell phone is wearing thin, especially during low light and night time. I'm looking for a camera that will work great in low light, and be able to easily post pictures to social media. I've been looking at a Panasonic LX100 and the Canon EOS Rebel T3 or T3i. I'm hoping to stay under $800. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

it will bend the top of your budget though

last year's rx100 iii is still also a phenomenal choice, and you should be able to find it just under your budget

you may want to refer to some of the info and suggestions in this article too:

RX100 is more of a point and shoot. more compact, zoom lens
x100s is more of a photographer's camera. better manual controls, better in low light, fixed 35mm so you have to zoom with your feet.

from my limited use with both, the Fuji felt better to me. The image quality was better too. i'd check flickr for some image samples on both. They're both good options but two totally different cameras

A6000, RXIII or RXIV, Canon G7X II will be out soon. A6000 is biggest but most capable being an ILC and all, but if that doesn't matter then a 1" sensor p&s works great for travelling too. The A6000 is still very small though. Currently my setup is the A6000 with a 3 lens kit.
