If it's as powerful as it advertises, it's finally a plausible Windows alternative to the current crop of MacBooks Pros. I do with they offered something with more real estate though -- laptops are only really viable field solutions when they offer decent screen sizes. I can't really work an effective After Effects composition in 13.5 inches.

I've got a surface pro 2 and a 3. The only drawback to the book is maybe the weight relative to the SP, otherwise I think it provides all the strengths of the SP and deals with pretty much all the weaknesses.

yeah, the Book does look awesome. however, as you said the portability may be the only drawback for me. what i'm mostly looking for is a device that can run adobe lightroom really well when i'm on the road. the SP4 can do that and with the dock i can also connect it to a larger screen when i have that available. i love photographing the places i travel to so i need something small, and especially light, that can easily come with me.
