Usually my Madden pattern was playing with friends and playing franchise mode. After my friends and I stopped playing for various reasons (life, work, family, death) I stopped buying it.
This year one of my boys mentioned wanting to play cause now his son, who's in high school, whips up on him. So I'm buying Madden this year for the first time since like 2005 or 2006? Been so long I don't remember.
Early reviews are good and say it's the best Madden in recent history.
Surprised there's no post on it here or in OKSports. Has disgust with the franchise reached an all-time high here, or are people just keeping mum?

every review every year says this (not counting first entries on new consoles). same with fifa. it's going to be the same game as last year (and the year previous, and the year before that one, etc.) with some minor tweaks to gameplay and graphics. maybe they will "add" a mode or feature they pulled out a few years ago. i imagine the AI is still poor and that AI "cheating" is still as frustrating as it used to be
to be fair they did implement a somewhat procedural animation system a few years back and it looks like they've finally made it work properly, meaning the players don't animate like robots anymore. if you haven't played in a long while i'm sure the game will be a lot of fun for you

i imagine that some people are sick of the diminishing returns on a game that has been made for 20+ years, some people don't care, and some people are going to buy it because they buy it every year and it really doesn't matter how good or different it is. none of those things really warrant a "madden 16" post

I haven't enjoyed a Madden/NCAA since the 07 versions on PS2, but the last NCAA and last year's Madden were both fairly fun. I didn't play both very in-depth but I'm getting the itch to re-download Madden 2015. Don't think I'll be buying this new one, the only real draw for me is getting to play with Ameer Abdullah...except Suh left the team so the fantasy would be bittersweet.

I don't have enough friends that play sports games and my son has zero interest, sadly. I say I'll get back into it and every year I never do. Maybe once I get my PS4 I'll pick up this year's version
