I fucking LOVED Deadly Premonition and its bizarro writing. One of the few games I actually finished at the time. The combat was terrible, the graphics were weak (originally targeted for the Xbox/PS2 generation) but there were some innovative ass ideas in that game. And the writing was fucking bonkers.
I'm about a half hour or so into D4 and it's still a bit slow. Need to invest more time into it to give it a legit shot. I can see shades of that quirkiness from DP though, so I'm looking forward to it.
No Kinect either, but not sure if that would really improve the gameplay, despite being designed around it.

Everyone was in an uproar that they didn't focus on games and more on media. Yet way more of my friends play games (especially multiplayer) on Xbox one.
So far it's had more games that grab me than PS4. I mainly just use the PS4 for exclusives.
The apps are plentiful on the XB1. I feel like broadcasting on Twitch is way better with XB1 due to the interface and it also broadcast at a higher resolution. Been using HBO GO a lot to watch The Wire, PS4 doesn't have it.
I can just turn the XB1 on and have everything I need right there. I know PS4 will catch up and I still like it, it just gets way less time than my XB and PC.

but I actually play them shits, as opposed to my Xbox which collects dust because I only turn it on when I want to play one of the three first party exclusives on it I actually care about (Titanfall, Killer Instinct, and Sunset Overdrive). i'll play a little Halo 5 when that drops too. everything else that comes out I'd rather play on PS4 because it's a little better there. plus i tend to like the PS4 exclusives a bit more. Guilty Gear alone sways me toward the system over XBO.

the PS4 is my Steam Box for the moment. Sony has been great at getting the best PC games ported to their systems. if Microsoft followed suit, the consoles would be a lot closer to me.
on top of that, you can't really build a gaming PC more powerful than the PS4 for less than $400 at the moment.
that price factor is why niggas like me don't hop into the world of luxurious ass PC gaming.
the PS4 at MSRP is simply the best current gen gaming deal on the market.
that said, if the XBO is still selling for $329 or whatever I definitely don't knock anybody who cops that over the PS4. you can't beat that price.

The upfront cost will likely be more for a gaming PC, but it's still a PC so you'll derive utility from those functions.

PC gaming is dope. But I am talking about upfront cost.
I can play hella indies and older titles on my Macbook and still use my Macbook like a Macbook. Can't play no AAAs tho.
I could build a dedicated gaming PC (and I want to eventually) that can play everything, but it'll cost more than a console. It'll have to cost more than a console to even be worth it.
PC gaming is getting easier and easier, but it's still not as cheap and convenient as a console out the box. And in the meantime, the PS4 is out here pretending to be a gaming PC as a side hustle.

Never really rocked the Guilty Gear, I feel like my fighting game days are over. Rolled with Killer Instinct for awhile but been out of the game so long no doubt I'd get rocked if I ever got back into it.
PS4 I'm looking out for Bloodbourn and of course Uncharted 4 It'll get more play then.

It needs an overhaul on that side scrolling badly. I mean, they added a feature to have your favorites only on screen but it's still a messy scroll and not in any way ideal to look for your games. I think more people are in love with the fact that the PS4 is more power specs wise and that's it, to tell the truth. I mean it has a bunch of PC indie games on it, but those games do nothing for me. Don't Starve = Don't Play for me. Really. 20 years ago I would have dug a lot of those Indie games. But now? Eh. I do dig Guilty Gear and copped that, but I probably won't serious play my PS4 for an extended period again till The Order drops.

The Xbox One interface is a jumbled mess. I almost feel like they made that shit so wacky to force you to use the Kinect (navigating the system is the best use of that thing and it's a big plus).
The PS4 interface is no-frills to a fault, but that fault is less faulty that whatever the fuck they was trying to do with the Xbone UI.

I mean I have all my Pins right there on the home page and the iPad. Love them Pins. So it works for me. And then the ability to be able to simply unplug the external hard drive from the X1 and take it to another one is huge for us as a family since both my kids and myself have an X1. You can literally download someone once and take it to the other X1s and just copy. I did that with the Master Chief since I had bought it for both the kids and myself.

The base PS4 home page is cleaner, but that endless scroll shit really is silly. Put games on like a third line or something, don't commingle it with all the other options. When you start digging into menus though, why is shit all up in your face? And why is it when I look at a list of items, half the screen is taken up by the damn title bar?
The base X1 home page is a mess and certain elements have irrelevance. I haven't launched Evolve in weeks, why is that shit still on my home page? The saved game state is neat, but damn is it buggy. I don't know how many times I needed to start up D4 before relaunching Destiny because Destiny was stuck hanging on a black screen. Pins though, pins are great. I want to remove some pins though, why can't I do that? The menus in X1 are typically cleaner though, but I wonder why they also don't show all possible items sometimes.

Just got to the dam in Last of Us... gorgeous game with some odd flaws. Interesting game, but I can see why it's not for everyone. First Naughty Dog game I've tried so I don't really have a frame of reference for this style of games.

My PS4 and desktop already run through the same speakers and my desktop is, and always has been since I was a kid, right next to where I sit while playing. So I've always just used my iTunes for music playing through the same source as my games, and this service doesn't change anything about that since the in-game music in a sports game, for example, still plays unless you turn it off.
