probably my next buy, but RPGs tend to fall flat with me ... too much to do. granted, the last RPG i went crazy for was KOTR and that's a bioware piece. never played the mass effect games. we'll see.

I feel like it's be how I feel between those and fallout. Loved Fallout because it didn't have weird magical/me lee combat in first person, and I could just relate to the setting more. Always been intrigued by DA: Origins but never pulled the trigger, with Destiny consuming all my time still and stuff like GTA V and that Last of Us remaster sitting idly I just don't want another game I could potentially play for 80 hours, either.

I LOVE the dragon age games man...and I heard Inquisition is not only a fantastic, deep RPG in its own right but also integrates the storyline of the first two extremely well.

I love it!
Holy crap what a great RPG. I can't help thinking about how I'm going to try to save the world while I'm at work. I was seriously just thinking of what I want to do in the game when I get off.
Sunk almost 40 hours into it so far but I'm taking my time and getting engulfed in this world. So much stuff to do here. My 2 hand Warrior makes me feel like a bad ass.
Honestly my fav Dragon Age.

mostly hold the attack button down while managing cooldowns; not unlike an MMO. and that it has a half-baked ffxii-gambit-style AI system that isn't particularly useful. that doesn't sound interesting to me. and i'm not a fan of the dragon age lore. and bioware turned me off with ME3 and dragon age 2. this game may not be for me...

If you play on hard and up you pretty much have to use the tactical camera which pauses the gameplay and lets you set up your people where you want and micomanage the action and what each person does.
You can set tactics for each person in your party. For instance if a character drops below %20 health they'll automatically take a health potion.
On normal you can worry about just yourself but on some boss fights or when I'm out leveled I really have to be careful on what I do with my people.
I played Origins and DA2 and thought while the story was good the game was just ok. I originally wasn't even going to get this but after hearing some friends who didn't care for the others say how much they enjoyed it I figured why not and copped it.
I love it! I honestly feel if the others were like this I would have enjoyed them even more.

i hang back casting spells waiting for them to recharge, plugging away with my basic attack in between. granted, this is for run of the mill bandit attacks. i have yet to take down any sort of big bad guy that may require more strategery. i haven't use the tactical attack once.
which is not to say there's no strategy. i level up my characters with different powers (one rogue is dual wielding, another's an archer) so it can change which of the major spells i cast.
the button-mashing doesn't really bother me.
