"Finally Something Both Apple and Google Users Can Get Behind (Link)"
Retailers like Walmart and CVS pulled their support for Google Wallet and Apple Pay to push there own system, CurrentC. I think that was a huge mistake and they'll eventually have to cave in and bring it back.

hilarious to see it swell to hit mainstream media. CurrentC was a ballsy venture, but incredibly shortsighted. By limiting it to just bank accounts they're cutting out a massive swath of users. It makes sense from the retailer standpoint to avoid cutting in the CC companies but by that same token it would never have gotten widespread use.
I think it could exist as a niche service if it survives this PR debacle, but regardless of what happens this is supremely entertaining to watch. I love disruptive technology, haha
I was in Europe a year ago and at the airport I couldn't use my card because it didn't have an EMV chip embedding in it. NFC is a well proven technology. I can't believe how short-sighted Best Buy and Walmart have been in not adopting this technology.

These big box stores can't afford to be fucking up like this in the digital age. With practically everything being done either mobile or digital you have to get ahead of making transactions secure. Kudos to Apple and Google recognizing that. The technology that Walmart and company are pushing is so clumsy and cumbersome it boggles the mind. Hubris is a mofo.
