I buy them for him and build them and he destroys them. I usually get him little $5-10 lego city sets as rewards because legos are so fucking expensive. But his bday just passed and he got hooked up. A couple of Ninja Turtles sets and a Guardians of the Galaxy set. If I had the space to store them I would grab a set or two. Right now I've been buying the new minifig set. Bought two so far and got doubles. Going to grab a couple more this weekend.
***where did you find that exo suit? Those things were selling out the first couple of days they were released. I wanted to buy one and hold it for resale. Then buy more lego's with the profit.

also my son loves that set because he really wants Groot. But right now we need another storage option. We bought one of those lego heads to store shit in. Its been full for months.

30. "Lego Advent Calendars!!!" In response to Reply # 0
saw them at Target today. They had a Star Wars for $39 or Lego City for $29. I saw online there was a Lego Friends one for the girls. Pretty cool idea. I gotta go back with out my son and get the Star Wars one for him. But each one came with like 4 or 5 mini figs and other little random shit. Props, decorations, vehicles for the minifigs.

36. "YO! Great post. I built the Exo-Suit with my GF last weekend—amazing." In response to Reply # 0
I hadn't messed with Legos in easily 15+ years (31 now). Showed it to her in the box after I bought it and she was all "Cool! Anyway, I told her..." whatever whatever, which I'll admit gave me a slight twinge of disappointment. But as I was about to walk away she kind of sheepishly asks, "...can I help you build it?" Turns out she wasn't poo-pooing the Legos, she just knew how excited I was and didn't want to step on my toes. I said yes and she damn near squealed.
The build itself was like 2.5 hours of unfettered joy and nostalgia. We just kept smiling and saying out loud how much fun it was. This is a good set for two people because of the symmetry; there are a lot of "Build this x2" sections, so we could work at the same time.
Of course, the only issue now is "How do I keep from funneling 40% of my paycheck directly into Lego's hands?" I got the bug again, but holy shit every time I see a set I want I get crazy sticker-shock.

the key to happiness is not being rich; it's doing something arduous and creating something of value and then being able to reflect on the fruits of your labor
Here's where everyone still reading starts to hate me: I got all of these at least 30% off retail, and a few as much as 60% off. Scholastic store in NYC is clearing inventory to close down, and I was all over that shit.
Even with the heavy discounts, this has gotten out of control pretty quick. Thank god I won my fantasy league this year.

Directly from Lego because if you're into rare-ish sets like me you can avoid the markup that may show up with 3rd Party Amazon shops. Most of sets are never sold at MSRP. Especially the Architecture sets. They are at Shop.Lego.com.
