Hasn't taken off one iota for casual use, and it'll never hit facebook levels.

However, use it like a buffed twitter by following people and/or news sources and it's much more useful.

but some of the other services are effing fantastic.

Hangouts, group chat, auto-uploading pics/videos are all things I use on a regular basis.
