I broke the old harddrive enclosure and slide it into the 4 gig slim. It works fine, but the problem is that it's not a perfect fit and the harddrive just 'hangs' in the empty air. Long term I have a sneaking suspicion gravity would bend the connectors but that could have been me being a worrywort; I do know that some third parties were selling enclosures that fit the slim.

wedge it in there to act as a shim and shock absorber

works great except some dlc might require connection to xbl to use
