"Help choosing a media player." Sun Jun-10-12 12:48 AM by CondoM
I just want something that I can hook up to my tv and HDs, which supports 1080p. I use my ps3 for most things, but the lack of support for MKV is just becoming annoying.
I don't care about support for streaming, so online access isn't really necessary.
As long as it supports most file formats and has a decent interface, I'm good.
I've been looking at the Micca MPLAY-HD, which I can cop on Amazon for $60. But if there's anything out there better at a similar price, I'd happily look at that.
It won't disappoint. Believe me. Just plug your external hard drive up to it with the mkvs and you're set. And it doesn't have a limit on the external hard drive size. I got a 3TB hooked up to it right now.

I actually paused for a minute and considered going with one of the ones that has a built in HD, but it's not really necessary. I might upgrade later on though.

Either the WD or a Boxee Box (which I still want, but can't really justify the price of)
