I was looking foward to recreating Tyson/Holyfield and Mayweather/Hatton.

I'm glad they finally got Tyson, Whitaker, Foreman and Lewis on the game....but not at the expense of Mayweather and Holyfield. They could've left off a couple of these younger fighters for right now. Some of them are still only prospects.

EDIT:
I think that some of the boxers missing might become DLC. I wouldn't be surprised if EA put some of these boxers back in after fans start getting pissy over not having some of their favorites in the game. We can have Cintron but not J.M. Marquez? No Micky Ward?

And where's Larry Holmes? People never give that man the credit he deserves because he was in between Ali's era and Tyson's era.

And if EA's going to keep Diego Corrales in there, they might as well add Jose Castillo as DLC so you can play their rivalry.

I played the demo and it was kind of weird. I've only played the first Fight Night, so maybe it cause I was used to that one. But it felt more stiff to me. But the amount of fighters available will probably force me to go ahead and buy it. Chico Corrales all day.

I think parries aren't there, right? They simplified blocking and reworked haymakers? or am I wrong about that? and if that's all they did, that's not "switching the controls," that's just tweaking the gameplay mechanics.

and, i've played at least 250 matches online. i've got caught w/what i thought was absolute garbage a couple times, but on the replay, you can see how it happens.

i don't think i've seen somebody get flash KO'd when standing flatfooted. and, of course, all of that can be avoided by keeping your guard up.

The career mode looks quality.

Though something did feel "off" in the demo, but I guess that was just due to the slight reworking of the controls from R3. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

And I get to build my own boxer with the same ugly-ass face as me. Sold.

and 2 of my 3 losses were from 1st round knockouts where i basically just walked into a punch and it was lights out
and the other loss was in a 6 round fight where i was winning every round
knocked dude down 4 times, dropped him with like a minute left in the last round
and he got up on some miracle shit
i tried to finish him off and get knocked the fuck out with 10 seconds left in the fight, lol

the sequence of my losses are even funnier
on some roy jones shit
my first loss was the jawn where it was 10 seconds left in the fight
i was undefeated and on my way to winning prospect of the yr
then my whole career changed,lol
lost that one
so went into my next fight real gung ho and shit

I played it for 3.5 hrs last night on legacy mode. First I created my boxer and used the game face thingy. It worked out pretty well, although it took a couple of tries to actually get my guy looking right. It was the first time I used my Xbox camera. But it was cool. It has a lot of features to customize your guy, so that takes a little while too. The actually game play is different to me, because I've only played Fight Night 1, but I got used to it after 2 or 3 fights and I started finding my range. Started knocking fools down and eventually...out. The counter punching is a bitch in this game though. You really have to watch running in there trying to "Mike Tyson" everyone. Because some dudes will counter your ass silly and you're instantly in trouble. My defense is pretty fuckin tight though. I'm like Clottey up in that bitch, but I can get better. All in all it's a very good game to me. I'm currently 6-0 3KOs. I'm a welter weight. I also like that they have to overall P4P rankings and the division rankings. I think that's pretty cool. I don't remember if they had that in the first.

I was up above 60% just barely until my most recent fight, where I got this dude that just stood and absorbed punches and never threw in return, so I just sat and shot at him and hit for like 43% overall in the fight, and had my connect % dip into the 50s for the first time since the Amateur tourney.

-- Training games are fun, but the IGN reviewer was right -- some of them don't work at all until you get handspeed up.

-- did the face thing, and yeah, my dude was weird looking as hell. I've used the same feature in Tiger and it was fantastic, so I'm guessing there's just some reshaping for the boxer head model that tweaks it all out. Being able to download others like Rocky Balboa and Obama is awesome, though.

-- Love this game. No complaints at all so far, except that bitch that turtled up too much, so I couldn't put him away. Knocked him down once, just no KO. Oh and fuck these grabbing ass bitches...

That motion is just not registering in my brain when I try. But watch for my right hook. Its deadly.

leaned back on a left uppercut then came around above it, and without even realizing it threw the left jab as he was falling, so I get that awesome replay of me clocking him with the right, then the left jab squishing his unconscious little face, you best believe my hands were raised in my living room, LOVING IT!

Oh, and having played skate. and skate.2 a whole ton, which uses a similar flick type control scheme for the tricks, it's amazing how your brain will eventually map all the motions.

Have you done the combo training? I did it once and bombed out cuz I missed too many punches, but doing it that way really did help isolate the motions, and I can tell the more I play, the more lethal my hands will get...

The judges sometimes be having some crazy scorecards (like real life lol). I dominated this one dude in a round and they gave the round to him 10-8 like he had floored me or something. I'm like wtf?

Also, sometimes I'll catch somebody flush and they'll go down real hard like Ricky Hatton was when he got dropped by Manny. But they'll pop up real quick. I wish they had flash knockdowns where a dude will get caught and look like he was just stunned for a sec and get up. And I wish they'd have a guy go down to one knee on a knockdown when he's just getting beat down instead of having him go through the theatrics like he just got beat to death.

Those are my only gripes I'd like to see them implement in future games to make it even more real.

I've never had problems with the scorecard. Do you throw low punches? I threw one in a match and just got a warning (cuz I was trying for the push button, but got it wrong - lol), I've never been penalized.

Oh man, and I caught this one dude on the signature head fake left hook in a match, put him in an instant stun, and then immediately went in to work him down. The disappointment is that the replay was like a body shot putting him down or something, when it was the lean back on a jab followed by the hook that really tagged him ... oh well, gotta get my stats up, it'll be less of an issue.
