You can't highlight an album's tracks and drag the album artwork to the box that says "drag album artwork here." Well, you can still do it, but it won't load the pictures. Every song must be loaded individually now. It also makes my albumart widget useless. And, there's now an additional folder in the itunes main folder for itunes artwork. I haven't poked around yet, but if this is making a folder for EVERY song rather than just embedding the picture into the id3 tag, fuggedaboudit. I wouldn't mind if it were creating a main file, where the image is stored for an album rather than for each song, but somehow I doubt that is the case. That is my first gripe. I love the gapless playback.

Anyone notice how when you click an option that will change what you see (listings etc) nothing happens until after you move the pointer away from the button?

and then i'm gonna then backup all my shit, artwork all that to separate jpg files just in case something fucks up with that. i only got like 90 songs, excluding music videos and tracks from CDs i've imported that got DRM on em.
then, i might consider updating the firmware on my iPod, but prolly not til I absolutely gotta update it with new shit like next tuesday when Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor drops.
the "backup to disk" feature looks tight. in the highly likely event i buy a new ipod (when that new-new shit drops next year, not that half-way point, ipod photo-esqe* HD space upgrade they released tuesday) i dont have to use mlpod or some shit or re-rip all my CDs.
and i certainly aint gonna re-download all that.
especially music videos. i'm gonna be so ballin when the widescreen one drops. most my videos already got the letterboxing cropped off em.
*remember when the color screen/photo dropped and people were like "man i wish you could put videos on here!" yea.
the best thing about it is my ipod is in like-new condition. i rarely take it out the little pouch and it still has the stuck on screen cover so it's scratch-free. i can sell it for at least $200 when the touch-screen one i really want drops.

you have to manually add it (select a group of tracks, "Get Info" -- there should be a box).
What's kind of cool is that you don't have to set the whole album like that.
The Doc has a playlist that contained Fat Joe's "A Word To The Wise" and "Livin' Fat"...those two are meant to be gapless...but since The Doc didn't jack the whole album they go to, The Doc set those two tracks individually to be gapless, and then when they play in the playlist...no gaps.

Songs I ripped with iTunes have no problems and no gaps. But if I ripped it with an older program or CD that has that little gap in it already, it's still there.

I REALLLY like the fact that it separates Podcasts and videos from the music now. It used to annoy the hell out of me to see podcasts included with my music.

I'm lovin 7 so far, although my main problem is that...you can't use coverflow for music off your Ipod...you can only use it for music in your library.
Whenever bumpin music off my comp, it's playing from my Ipod...not my library (my hard drive is mad small...gotta delete all the music after I rip it)
So basically the coverflow feature is useless to me.

It keeps albums with the same title but by different artists together (if you use the "Album" listing when accessing songs in the iPod), which is useful.
For example, both Eric Tagg and George Duke have albums called "Rendezvous".
The Doc used to work around this by making the Tagg album "Rendez-vous" and the Duke album "Rendezvous".
But Album Artist tag allows them to have the same name but logically separated by artist, so the "Album" sort doesn't put them all together in one album.

with naming two albums with the same title somewhat differently.
I'm wondering if I put The Neptunes' "Clones" album on there and have "The Neptunes" in the 'album artist' field and Clipse, Rosco P Coldchain or whoever in the regular 'artist' field if it'll come out aight.

I used my friends computer at work (a mac) to put an episode of the Wire on my iPod so I could watch it going home. After it imported the file it started to do the volume check thing for some songs but I didn't want to wait for that so I stopped the check. Then ejected my iPod the normal way. I got to play a playlist and it straight skips songs then just plays one or two. It's not random either the same songs will play every time. It shows the names of these songs but just runs over them. The same way that I would skip songs to get to the one I want to play. What has been done here? I thought when I got home on my own computer it would be fine. WRONG. It shows a gang of space open on my iPod where as before I only had about 2 gigs left. BUT the color bar on the iPod screen of Itunes says most of my ipod is music and the percentage is more than the regular gig bar says. it's weird. What do I do?
How do I group things by album and not by artist? When I scan my music and Kanye West's "Late Registration" is like 10 different CDs because the artist changes with every "features X" it's a little obnoxious.

Just put "Kanye West" in that particular tag and it should group them together.
(Though, The Doc just leaves the features part in the song title)
