Jackson expressed what I hear from just about every black person over 50 I know. Hip-Hop pop culture, what you see on MTV and BET, is morally bankrupt and generally garbage. Of course I know that there is more to Hip-Hop pop culture than what I see on BET, so me and hip-hop are cool. Now think about what Phil Jackson sees in Hip-Hop, the absolute worst aspect of it. He sees young kids who are fortunate enough to have a gift that can take them anywhere they want to be, and these kids what to look and sound like the rapper who typically fashions themselves as the pimp or drug dealer turn rap presario.

If you were a basketball couch who has a job to mentor rich young black men, wouldn't you have nothing but bad feelings towards the culture and value system that encourages them to buy bentleys and diamonds, and endorses criminal activity?

**********

Reality check: according to the 2000 census, there were more than 31,000 black physicians and surgeons, 33,000 black lawyers. There are about 1,400 black athletes playing professional basketball, football and baseball combined.
