City have been mostly demolishing everything in sight, while United has relied on gritty comebacks. But as befits a derby, the game at the Etihad still announces itself as a fascinating chapter in the overwrought Pep v Jose saga. For United a loss would put them 12 back of City and essentially dash any title hopes for good. But as their 3-2 comeback away win last April attested, the game should be an entertaining and combative one. United could get a boost from the return of Lukaku, pending a late fitness test.
