Before the start of the year, it looked like the offense might have to carry the team because Mizzou lost Shane Ray and Marcus Golden from last year but also Harold Brantley, the expected lead pass rusher on the team, plus their defensive coordinator.
Granted the schedule's been really weak, but Mauk still makes throws he shouldn't, especially not as a second year starter, and with Russell Hansborough injured the running game hasn't been string enough to balance out or bail out Mauk.
Thankfully, the defense is playing great, maybe even better than last year at this stage.
We have won all three games, which is better than losing to Indiana last year (Aside of Alabama, Indiana's RB was probably the beat skill player we faced last year. It was a tougher game than people realize.)
I do think any talk of winning the East again is out. It's Georgia's to lose.
