War Of The Worlds After flipping past it 20 times in a few days I basically broke down and watched it in two sittings (TNT: we know repeats). I hadn't seen it since watching it in theaters, and it was actually better than I remembered. The action is well-paced and if you don't watch the last 5 minutes it's a pretty decent movie
Dance Party, USA well I don't know, I, um, like, kinda enjoyed it *shrug*
An Education Really terrific performance by Carey Mulligan, which helps a lot to defuse some of the creepiness of the story. Actually most of the acting was top-notch, save perhaps for Sarsgaard who didn't totally convince me as a suave Englishman (especially compared to Dominic Cooper). It's pretty astounding the way Lynn's parents (well, more her dad, played with awesome dumbfoundedness by Alfred Molina) react to her infatuation, but it was great that the story just unfolds without too much of a post-modern skiew. Definitely understand the Oscar buzz about Mulligan now.
