It's hard to say which was a good mainstream show and which was a good underground/independent show. I saw a lot of great indie bands, some with an attendance of only five people and it was often far better than anything. I saw jazz musician Michael Brecker at a local high school and what blew me away was drummer Ben Perowsky.
As for shows I regret missing, Prince during the Lovesexy tour on November 15, 1988. I had the means but was not able to make the drive up the I-90.
