"I'm loving this" new" wave of underground gutter hip-hop shit"

However, I also gotta admit the sheer volume of it gets overwhelming. Trying to wrap my head around all of these releases can be tough.

I'd been thinking about making this post ever before the Crimeapple & Anklejohn post. Even thought about attaching it to the "new music" or even the Mach-Hommy post.

Regardless, I feel like there's a whole army of artists out there creating grimy shit. There's this whole subculture of artists out there, putting out dozens of EPs/albums/mixtapes anbd collaborating with each other. It seems like it started with Griselda, but I feel like it really began gaining traction with Roc Marci and Ka. And artists like Planet Asia have been revitalizing their careers taking this new approach. So while I'm typing to say it's East Coast-based, these cats are from all over the country.

So, the main artists I'm speaking of:

Of course, there's Westside, Conway, Mach-Hommy.

Also obvious are Roc Marci and Ka.

Then there guys who've been putting out stuff since the early 2010s like Smootvh and Hus Kingpin.

Then you've got MCs and producers

Knowledge the Pirate
Tha God Fahim
DirtyDiggs
Camoflauge Monk
Rozewood
$auce Heist
Jamal Gasol (has two "mixtapes"/EPs produced by OKP Kil)
Big Ghost
Crimeapple
Anklejohn
al.davino
Estee Nack
Vic Spencer
Nowaah the Flood
Chris Crack
Daniel Son
Bozack Morris
Vinyl Villain

So yeah, that's a lot of artists constantly churning out lots of music.

I'll be back in a bit to post some links to some of the songs.

Anyone else can feel free to contribute as well.

And anyone who knows the background of any of these dudes, feel free to share. I'm not having problems finding music, but I am also interested in their backgrounds/stories. And these guys don't do a lot of interviews.
