"Husbandry - "Fera" explosive post hardcore - female vox"
I normally am underwhelmed by anything like this that is not Fugazi or Unwound (can't deal with Tool or anything like that - yes I know Tool isn't exactly in the same category as Fugazi but, you know, the "intense" rock-"almost something else" thing)
Featuring jagged guitars, spiraling riffs and the powerful, adventurous vocals of Carina Zachary, the debut album from Brooklyn's Husbandry brings to mind the jazzy, mathy chaos of the Dillinger Escape Plan or Botchwith extra post-hardcore flourishes, highlighted by plenty of time changes, sudden stops and sprints, and no shortage of melody. The band can blast full speed ahead on "Nature Vs. Nurture" while slowly building tension on the massive "Hymn to Tourach." Fera is due out August 26.
