. . .and, in case this wasn't clear initially: I think Paul Simon was a fine songwriter, but very much second tier, in the grand scheme.
But anyway, if he was being satirical and he really thought he was being funny or could get away with such a thing without looking like a total ass, he was wrong. Such smug artistic posturing is indicative of my larger problem with Paul. He thinks *very* highly of himself and that's just a total turn off for me.
