"What was 90s Mainstream rock?"


          

Perusing that 90s alt-rock, got me thinking. There's a ton of really mainstream (to my ears) sounding shit that got lumped into the alt-rock category (Oasis, Gin Blossoms, etc). The only prominent 90s rock acts that didn't get the the tag were holdovers from the 70s or 80s, like Aerosmith and U2.
