...what an absolutely amazing piece of rock-music that song is. Music, lyrics, everything. Granted, I have known that for well over 20 years which is when I borrowd "the wild....". However, what else is there? I know Born to run inside out and that shit aint good... at all. And "Darkness...", "the river"-yikes!!! I always liked Nebraska based strictly on the lyrics/stories; the music is zzzz. "Born in the USA" is disgusting; anyone who records a song like "Glory Days" deserves a specifically oily place in hell reserved for him. After that-I don't even want to try to understand...
Anyway, the reason I'm making this post is because while I hate the Boss (tm), "the wild..." is actually an excellent album almost front to back and I'm starting to think that Roy Bittan was the dude most responsible for making the boss unlistenable with his piano-rock shit; when I listen to this ONE album (and nothing else in this dudes discography), I hear brilliance in the music. Of course, I knew that along time ago but still... is there any later songs that can work as a "key" so to speak? I'm almost 40 (like, within a year) and I want to be a dad-rocker but I just can't because everything from Slayer to Chrome to... (insert anything with balls and guts without pianos) *still* feel more exciting to me... and I suspect it always will but I'm listening to "Rosalita" 3 times in a row and I feel perfection; frustrating event...
