>I've read many of those too, at this point tho I think part of
>that may just be an easy-bordering-on-lazy comparison for a
>music critic to make of male/female duos in that mold.

b/c I thought this immediately on reading the above and decided not to post it b/c I didn't want to seem like THAT guy. hah.

>But while we're here talking about big wars & married couple
>artist acts, this song 'War Is Over' by a North Carolina
>husband/wife act called Lowland Hum from this year
>http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/2013/06/21/193458054/first-watch-lowland-hum-war-is-over
>sorta caught my attention & I believe got that same comparison
>as well, so rather than say it's Richard/Linda-esque I'll go
>with um......Aimee Mann & Michael Penn?

have had Lowland Hum in the car the past week, along with Civil Wars... Lowland Hum is far the smoother listen, but that's both a weakness and a strength. I think it's the better album, but it lacks the emotional wallop (even without the subtext) that Civil Wars has. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

Oh, and speaking of RT, in case you haven't seen these:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVpLi1iJH7Y
a show I remember reading about when it happened and thinking 'My GOD'
also, the RT electric trio just played the folk fest, and once again the subject was taboo in my household... good thing though as my baby went to te ER and then overnighted the Wednesday before. Not a big deal as it turned out but going camping for 4 nights immediately following that would have been grounds for divorce.

so I'm in a band now:
