It's much less of a musical biography than it is a personal journey. Much of it concerns his coming out and finding himself and personal relationships and such. He doesn't consider Husker Du as much more than one short (albeit important) phase of his life. Workbook itself doesn't get that many words either, although there's plenty about his state of mind at the time of recording.
