There are no, I repeat NO eras of music that are particularly worse than others. Bad music was not invented recently. I'm sure that in 1730 for every Bach there were 50 other guys making really really crappy concertos or whatever the heck.
I remember that time period (2001-2004 not 1730)fondly and discovered tons of artists that I will listen to forever. little brother, Mos and Talib, MF Doom. There were also a ton of older artists putting out great stuff. It's always like this, there is good music and bad, solution: don't listen to bad music.
I guess if you are married to the radio or you go to lots of parties and stuff it would be hard to avoid music you don't like, but again that is your choice. I don't fully understand this post, maybe I'm too old, is this one of those ironic things like watching really bad movies just to make fun of them.
