Facts. You nailed it. The anticipation, the investment ... if something didn't grab me immediately, that was OK. I only had a few albums to listen to so I'd give it time to grow.

With you here a trillion percent. I'll listen to an album, pull the 2-3 songs I like and add them to a playlist, and move on. There are few exceptions to this in recent years.
