and I am the biggest black rock hater on the boards(from the 00's on that descriptor usually leads to some very disappointing interpretations of rock music...either cheesy half cocked and copied attempts at what's happening in rock mainstream or fifth tier funk rock).
It was a solid record. I think it would be better received now that we aren't expecting a Black On Both Sides 2 and we are more used to hip-hop artists branching out into other genre vanity projects (for instance I am surprised how well received Big Grams was on the boards)
My point still stands, Mos has been...well Mos, for better and for worse, throughout his career.
