Software now does the job of an entire studio's worth of hardware versus just a sampler, just a rompler keyboard/module, just an analog synth, just an FM box, or just a recorder of some type. You got everything you need to record some shit from start to finish, fx and dynamics included so of course it's deeper.
You really didn't get -close- to this level until the Korg Trinity series and even then it had to have EVERY expansion available for it loaded up (sampler card, Prophecy card, hard disk recording board, and MOSS card, which itself was included in the Trinity V3 series) and you'll STILL come up short.
