"Live From the Writer's Bench - You're Not A Digga If....."
Check out the newest ep of Live From the Writer's Bench where we're chopping it up about a rack of the debates cats get into about diggin and sampling and what is and what isn't a violation. Can a REAL digger have reissues in his crate? Can a producer sample another producer's drums? (exp. when Ski said he got the snare for Dead Presidents from Tribe's Oh My God) Is buying a record online (ebay, Dusty Grooves, etc.) considered "diggin" or do you physically have to be in a basement or store getting your hands dirty? Can you use a sample that another producer already use but not flip it differently? Or can you sample a record that JUST came out? (exp. Jay Z sampling the Menhanan Street Band...that just came out for Roc Boys) Check out the ep for our opinions but what do ya'll think? What's a violation and what isn't?
