"remember when 88 keys started that nigerian scam for unsigned acts?" Thu Aug-08-13 02:01 PM by bavid dammer
anybody remember this? a couple of years ago... before no church in the wild, when all he had was the beat he produced for mos def and the joint in black star to his name. 88 keys started a "project" where unsigned acts would pay him $1000 dollars to rap on one of his beats, and he would pick the best ones and release them on a full length album (and seemingly pay nobody royalties?).
of course, he never released anything because he's probably still promoting the death of adam or whatever.
but the funny thing was people on the internet were so fame-hungry that he got submissions from more than willing payers.
it's incredible what a little real world publicity from 15 years ago translates to in the minds of nobodies on the internet.
anyway, is anybody on here willing to admit to being dumb enough to have fallen for this?
did you get your money back?
did 88 keys claim his twitter was hacked?
did you file a class action lawsuit?
...like WHAT happened with this, because i know some of you paid the amount he was requesting to submit music to him.
