"Who's Choosing the Nas Singles at Def Jam?"

It's like they don't want this album to capture mainstream attention.

Nasty - Great tune for existing fans and to build the "Nas is back in fine form" buzz
The Don - Another great tune for existing fans. It has a little more club feel but still a little too "street' for cross over success.
Daughters - it's an album track, not a single. definitely not worthy of sinking money into a video
Bye Bye Baby - This was the icing on the cake. I mean, ya it's one of my faves on the album but what does releasing this as a single accomplish?

All of the above are at least very good songs but from a business standpoint, I don't understand these choices.

This is one of the best hip hop albums in years and deserves to be heard/purchased by a broader audience. "Cherry Wine" could be massive, especially matched with a good video featuring footage of Amy. "Summer on Smash" is the worst song on the album but that's often the case with singles. Release that with a video a month ago and it would equal record sales. Even Reach Out could cross over.
