I got a job at one of those "rent-to-own" stores.
Day one, after I fill out the paperwork, the manager throws me the keys to a van and says "hey...lets go driving".
I'm thinking I'm gonna be on the floor, trying to convince people to pay $10,000 for a $500 washing machine, so I wasn't sure what was up.
Dude was a chain smoker, so we're in this van all day with the windows slightly cracked and him smoking all day, driving around the city, knocking on peoples doors asking for money for their stuff. I was nervous danna mofo...like..I aint tryna get shot over a window unit AC. Get back to the store after about 6 hours and he says "see ya tomorrow".
Next day, dude hands me a stack of papers with phone numbers and says "okay, call all these people and tell them they owe us money". I stood there for about 45 seconds, said "hey man..I left my soda in the car, imma grab it and be right back". He says "okay, but hurry up..you got alot of calls to make."
I got to the car...cranked it up and never came back.
Next day I told my parents that the store had gone out of business.
