This shit might be the best movie I've seen all year.

Starr Carter witnesses firsthand her friend being gunned down by a white cop which sets her on a journey of self-discovery.

This shit handled all these topics well:

-poverty in the black community

-interracial dating

-systematic racism

-white "wokeness"

-accepting who you are among affluent white people

Man this shit better rack up some awards. It's a bit too Hollywood at times, but it did for me what Monsters and Men couldn't reach.

Now can we stop putting Amandla Stenberg in teenie bopper shit?
